Camaro XS By Jonsibal

You might remember the man who penned this aggressive low slung wide body Camaro from such two dimensional concepts as a Ferrari 458 Italia Spider, a JGTC inspired NSX and the mystery BMW Concept that we all thought was the Vision EfficientDynamics. The General Motors enthusiast website GMTunerSource.com recently asked JonSibal to see what he could do with the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, and from the looks of things he pulled out all the stops. The Camaro XS adds a bit of JDM flare to the classic American muscle car with items like a big mouth front bumper stuffed with a front mount and a pair of carbon fiber canards on either end, flared arches at all four corners housing a set of staggered deep dish Work Meister wheels wearing wide rubber and a GT style rear wing. If the General ever had a one make racing series planned for the new Camaro, they ought to build the competition cars to look like this.

2011 Audi S8 rendered

Now that Audi has revealed the redesigned A8 luxury sedan, it is only a matter of time before the German automaker’s in house tuners develop the A8 into a high performance sports inspired S8. Although we still have no clue as to what Audi will do with the working parts, we do have some idea as to what the upcoming S8 will look like thanks to this rendering that shows off the four ringed automaker’s standard S-line upgrades like LED lights, lower hanging side skirts, a chrome grille and side mirrors mirrors as well as a set of sporty 21 inch wheels.

Hofele Design offers Audi A5 owners some R8 style

Almost every automotive enthusiast dreams of owning an Audi R8, however there is a little thing called money that will keep most of us from actually purchasing one. However if you just so happen to be lucky enough to be driving an Audi A5, the tuners at Hofele Design have come up with an aftermarket kit that takes your two door audi sports coupe and makes it look like the four ringed super car.

Hofele starts by replacing the front bumper with an R8 inspired unit complete with a pair of oversized air intakes filled with horizontal diffusers, a set of the R8’s signature side blades and choice of rear aprons complete with cutouts for the Hofele’s oval shaped tailpipes or one that fits the standard single exit exhaust as well as Lamella inserts in the rear diffuser from the new 5.2 Liter V10 powered R8 are integrated into the rear bumper. So if you are looking for Audi R8 style without having to fork over the amount required to actually take home a super car, Hofele Design has just the kit for you.

Nissan GT-R by C-West

If you needed any more proof that Nissan’s GT-R is the jewel sparkling inside of all tuners eyes, then have a gander at this wild winged turbo all wheel drive monster some call Godzilla. The Japanese racing shop C-West knows that the GT-R is already aerodynamically perfect from the factory, so any larger lip spoilers or big mouth front bumpers will actually hinder the GT-R’s efficiency as it cuts through the wind because all the air flow that was being directed to the rear wing has been disturbed and sent off course. Using their Super GT experience, C-West developed this oversized adjustable rear wing made from lightweight carbon fiber. By leaving the rest of the car alone and only focusing on the back end, the Japanese tuners take full advantage of what Nissan’s design team spent countless hours in the wind tunnel developing.
C-West is a race shop, so they wouldn’t put out any aftermarket product that didn’t serve a purpose. Being adjustable, the carbon fiber rear wing can be adjusted to a steep angle in order to increase downforce and gain valuable seconds in the corners, or lay it flat for top end stability so that you can fly by lesser machines on the straights. Either way, the C-West wing will help bring down your lap times, and at $7,380 it better be good for more than a few tenths. Now if they could only make it remotely adjustable.

Audi will produce 1000 of their E-Tron electric supercars

The Audi R8 E-Tron captivated the audience at the recently-concluded LA Auto Show and according to Audi, the car is scheduled to make itself known to a far bigger audience around 2012.
The folks from Ingolstadt have confirmed that the electric supercar will, in fact, head to production with a target release date of 2012. A total of 1,000 made-to-order units will be made of the E-Tron and in the event that all 1,000 units don’t sell, then the production for the electric supercar will stop.
When it made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show – and making its US debut in LA a week ago – the E-Tron concept generated a ton of attention for its sleek and futuristic look and its engine capabilities. Sporting four individual electric motors on each wheel, the E-Tron can generate as much as 313hp, a maximum torque of 4,500Nm, and a 0-60mph time of 4.8 seconds with a top speed coming in at around 124mph. Likewise, a full battery charge of the E-Tron is expected to last for about 150 miles.

While the car itself has become some sort of a public fixation, Audi is cautiously optimistic about the future of the car, hence the decision to limit its run to 1,000 units. According to Achim Badstubner, Audi’s head of exterior design, “Electric cars are usually city cars, but this is difficult because batteries are so expensive, limiting their competitiveness."
While we understand their guarded stance on the prospect of the car, we still fully expect the E-Tron electric supercar to generate a ton of interest that is unless they price the car obscenely high, but according to Autocar, it should be right around the ballpark, albeit a little higher, of the R8.

Santa Claus parade in Germany features lighted-up Ford Focus RS

Christmas is just around the corner and even if you don’t believe in Santa Claus anymore, you have to be happy for those who still do. In Brandenburg, Germany, the annual Santa Claus parade had a very special guest in the form of a lighted-up Ford Focus RS. We don’t know if Santa’s trading in his old but extremely reliable reindeers for a new Focus RS but we do know that he may find it a little harder to remain discreet this time, especially not with this particular kind of Focus RS flying from house to house and chimney to chimney.

Video: Audi R8 - V8 vs. V10

Video Link Here
With Audi coming out with the more powerful version of the R8 super car, the question that remains to be answered is whether the extra output from a Lamborghini V10 is enough to make up for the additional weight generated by a pair of extra pistons and all the hardware to keep them pumping up and down in harmony with the rest of the internal combustion unit. So to answer the question of whether the 5.2 really is greater than the 4.2, the blokes at iMotor have put the pair through an assortment of tests that include straight line acceleration, handling and even sound to determine if an extra air of pistons is worth the extra quid.
